Rancho Mirage hosts national and world leaders as well as Hollywood celebrities like Frank Sinatra. It was brought into global limelight when it served as the home of notable philanthropists namely: Walter and Leonore Annenberg.
 
The Annenberg Estate, also known as Sunnylands was designed by Quincy Jones as a midcentury modern home. It remains the choice location for international conferences among world leaders. The public is of course permitted to also tour Rancho Mirage with its historical stylishly designed homes and estates stretching beyond the famous pink walls of Sunnylands. Rancho Mirage is also home to notable country clubs as the Tamarisk Country Club which had the Marx Brothers as its founding members. It is in fact now home to the historical landmark "El Rancho Harpo", Thunderbird Country Club, the Mission Hills Country Club, site of the LPGA`s Annual ANA Inspiration (formerly Kraft Nabisco) Golf Tournament. Interestingly, the former home of President Gerald Ford and First Lady Betty Ford. It is also home to the magnificent communities of Magnesia Falls Cove, Morningside, Rancho Las Palmas, The Springs, and Waterford.
 
It is so easy to find exquisite dining and entertainment. This combination complements the luxurious living in Rancho Mirage. There are also very old desert establishments ranging from Shame on the Moon, Lord Fletcher`s or Wally`s Desert Turtle located on the Highway 111 corridor as well as other well-known restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory or P.F. Chang`s at The River.

There are stores at The River or the Monterey Marketplace, located at the corner of Dinah Shore and Monterey Avenue. Children are also not left out of the fun as they can visit the Cinemark Theaters at The River, Rancho Las Palmas Splashtopia or the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert.
