Mirada Estates is located in the Santa Rosa mountains above the Coachella Valley. Many area homes have breathtaking views of the surrounding desert. This gated and guarded community is surrounded by many miles of wilderness.

What to Do

Mirada Estates is next to The Ritz Carlton, where you can enjoy world-class spa services and luxurious private dining experiences. Many luxury residences in Mirada Estates feature entertainment areas, wine cellars, and other amenities that make it easy to enjoy yourself at home.

Where to Eat

Mirada Estates is a five-minute drive from many quality restaurants along El Paseo. For example, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood restaurant offers a classic, fine dining experience, with menu items like Petrossian caviar and Norweigan salmon in a whiskey glaze with baby carrots and spinach. You will also want to try Shame on the Moon, an upscale American-style restaurant on Frank Sinatra Dr.

Students in Mirada Estates attend schools in the Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD). About 95% of Rancho Mirage High School student graduate, and many attend the University of California at Irvine or California State University at San Bernardino. Most teachers in PSUSD have held their current positions for at least two years.

Tamarisk Country Club

Tamarisk Country Club was designed in 1952. At the time, it was only the second private golf course in Coachella Valley. Luxury homes are available within the country club and in adjacent residential areas. Each offers the perfect combination of both indoor and outdoor living.

What to Do

The main attraction at Tamarisk Country Club is the golf course. Ben Hogan once remarked that Tamarisk’s course had the most beautiful greens in the entire country. Hogan was the club’s first pro and is due a great deal of credit for helping the club become successful. The club also offers superb tennis courts and fitness facilities.

Where to Eat

The Club offers dinner socials and cocktail events regularly. You’ll also find themed parties and other special evenings on the club’s schedule of upcoming events. Outside the Club, locals love starting their days at RM Coffee. Their iced tea, lemonade, and frozen drinks offer respite from the summer heat.

Like Mirada Estates, homes in the Tamarisk area are zoned for Rancho Mirage High School. Younger students will attend Rancho Mirage Elementary School. Both schools are within a 10-minute drive from the Country Club.

Thunderbird Heights

Thunderbird Heights is another option for Rancho Mirage residents who want to enjoy easy access to the country club. Many area homes offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains in a quiet and private neighborhood. You can expect houses with expansive outdoor living spaces and beautiful landscaping.

The staff at Thunderbird Country Club take great pride in providing an excellent dining experience. Themed buffets and elegant seated meals, with music and dancing, occur regularly. The Club is also a popular events venue that hosts wedding receptions and other celebrations.

If you’re looking for an excellent Mexican meal, visit family-owned Las Casuelas Nuevas, a staple on Restaurant Row in Rancho Mirage. Their Sunday brunch is a can’t-miss experience for delicious omelettes and famous huevos rancheros.

Many Thunderbird Heights residents choose to send their children to Palm Valley School. Palm Valley is ranked as one of the top private schools in the area. The school regularly receives high rankings for its academics, teachers, and after-school activities.

Waterford is located in the center of Rancho Mirage. The master-planned community offers residents access to multiple lighted tennis courts and a five-acre lake. Waterford is extremely private and features 64 estate-sized homes on 40 acres.
